AWS - HowTo - Connect to AWS EC2 console via EC2 serial console

 

In this blog, let us see how to connect to EC2 via EC2 serial console

Pre-requisite:

• An active AWS account
• Permissions to AWS EC2 management console

Steps:

• Login & navigate to the AWS EC2 Management Console
• Select the EC2 instance for which the "EC2 Serial Console" connection is required & click "Connect"

• Select the "EC2 Serial Console" tab, click connect

• Find a new tab in the browser opening up with the AMI, OS and login prompt reporting from ttys0 port

Note:

• Instance that is used or required to be connected for "Serial Console" should be of type "AWS Nitro System"
• useful when SSH/RDP doesnt work !!
