AWS - HowTo - Connect to the AWS EC2 Windows Instance from console via RDP Client

 

In this blog post, let us see how to connect to Windows EC2 instance via RDP client from management console

Pre-requisite:

• An active AWS account
• Permissions to connect and launch Windows EC2 instance from AWS EC2 management console

Steps:

• Login & Navigate to AWS EC2 management console
• Now, launch free-tier windows EC2 instance with necessary settings
• Once the instance is launched, select the instance , click on "Actions -> Connect" option -> click on "RDP client" option

• Now the Windows Key file is to be selected in order to decrypt the Windows login password

• Download the RDP client file to connect to the Windows instance

• On giving the password, just decrypted from the previous step, now we can login into the Windows box
