Earlier, in this blog, we have seen on "How to raise request for service quota limit increase for creating AWS Dedicated Hosts". Please refer here for further details https://cloudgoddess.blogspot.com/2021/09/aws-howto-raise-request-for-any-service.html
Now, the service limits has been increased to "1" for my account, so that I can create Dedicated Hosts. Let us see how to do this
Pre-requisite:
- An active AWS account
- Request approval for creating AWS Dedicated hosts from AWS Support center
Steps:
- After logging into the AWS account, navigate to the AWS EC2 console
- click on the "Dedicated Instances" option under "Instances" Menu at the left sidebar
- This takes to the page to furnish the "Dedicated Hosts" parameters like name, Instance family(mac1 -> is the option to be selected) & "Instance Type" should be "mac1" for launching a MacOS EC2 instance
- Click on "Allocate" at the bottom right and watch your very own Dedicated Host as request being created
Note: This Dedicated hosts can only be used to launch MacOS Instances as the Instance family & type are Mac related
